SUBTLE RUSH

504/GWT

Subtle Rush is an on-going thought process and form experiment that takes the format of visual mixtapes. The title is a self-coined term which refers to the sensation I experience when discovering connections between seemingly unrelated materials. This is the baseline of the realization process; actualizing itself through organizing frequencies, sources, and snippets from my memory and archive, through which I explore and comment on themes that consistently run through my mind, heart and spirit.

Through the process of editing and sequencing, I explore how meanings can shift, correlate, and create new perspectives, dubbing it "the reopening and rearranging of records." By interlinking & overlapping multiple sources, new pathways are formed, creating self-coded dialogues.

Ultimately, these visual mixtapes are a manifestation of an (inner) ongoing dialogue with the past, present and future; a way to decode and recode the world around me. Plus, a reminder that material and meaning are not static, but ever-evolving; waiting to be reopened, reimagined, reassembled, and reshared.
